Overview
Akita is an IoT device watchdog station that protects smart homes from network invasions and hacks. Connected to a LAN port on your router, Akita scans your network for any unusual activity and immediately shuts it down – alerting you in real time.
Akita uses military-grade security protection retrofitted for the home, combining threat intelligence, behavioral analysis, and machine learning. Importantly, it does not use deep packet inspection (DPI), ensuring privacy-first protection.
The device learns your habits over time and adapts its protection to your specific privacy and security needs. It comes paired with the Akita mobile app for real-time monitoring and management, and is backed by on-call privacy experts at Axi.us for remote assistance.
The campaign raised $884,254 from over 8,400 backers – nearly 30x its original $30,000 goal – making it one of the most successful IoT security products on Kickstarter.
